Domes of the Boulder Batholtih

Trevor and I went out yesterday for a bit of exploration...a hike up Halfway Creek and a hike across Big Pipestone Creek to check out the unnamed dome on the opposite side...

This dome, according to Kurt Krueger, had some ancient fixed anchors...we figured summit pitons or some fixed tat, but what we found was a very old bolt line up slab on the rear of the dome. Leeper hangers and quarter inchers...a couple of nice cracks on the slab as well...

This pair of overhanging cracks looked great...something to return to.

Summit push

Cruising one of the slab cracks, a fun romp, reminiscent of Knapsack Crack on the Hogbacks at the Leap...the bolted slab is off to my left...

We rounded out the day with a trip to the Freeway Tavern, as Trevor needed to experience the best Wop Chop in the city...a good day to be sure and nice to be back in the Batholith.

Cheers
